Sulla Pelle, a tactile collection exploring texture and subtle, natural hues.

This painted ceramics collection expresses itself on a tactile level.
The pieces are built from a variation of groggy and smooth clay, in different tones, and are painted with glazes. The technique of painting with glazes awakens a subtle play of textures, soft hues blending into one another. Because the glazes are melted in very high temperature kilns, the artwork carries an element of serendipity, inviting a release of control and an appreciation for the nuanced interplay of lines and colors.

Inspired by French rêverie and everyday romance, PAO ceramic work is an ode to the delicate beauty of nature. Her ceramic art associates simplicity with a fragile elegance. This allows one to surround oneself with creations that inspire and hold dear.  With graceful illustrations and finely engraved patterns, PAO infuses her collections with a narrative essence that stimulates the mystical experience.

“The pieces I create emerge from a thoughtful creative process. Every piece springs from the essence of an illustration, becomes a prototype and is ultimately fine-tuned into its final form. I ensure that all my creations resonate with the aesthetic I cherish, and are imbued with a narrative quality that reflects our collective soul.”

Clay

PAO artworks are built with different types of  high temperature firing clays (Cone 10, 1240°C). From White stoneware with no grog, 10% grog or clays with 40% grog. The colors used vary from white, cream and blue-gray to anthracite clays.

Glaze

PAO artworks are covered with liquid glazes from a wide range of colors. Due to the artisanal nature of each batch, there may be variations in the glaze from one application to another, contributing to the individuality of each piece.

Unicity

PAO artworks are entirely shaped and illustrated by the artist’s hand, Sizes and shapes vary, and  each design is completely unique. No monotony for a thrilling and soulful life!
